Car Problems Abound

yesterday we had car problems
our mechanic lives in the country
making the drive in to fix our car

when he opened the hood
to attach his jumper cables
there was a wild rabbit
huddled there, shaking

I was deeply concerned
our mechanic told me
"don't touch that guy,
he'll scratch you good"
I used the ice scraper
to get him out of there
worried over his safety
he jumped out and ran away

today we had car problems
our car started just fine
but there was an awful noise
banging under the hood

safety being something relative
death being something real

I used the ice scraper
to get him out of there
