Bait and Hook (a poem about desire)

mule and carrot
bait and hook
samskaras samskaras

just around the bend
lies a garden of
earthly delights
just hang in there
for eternity, ever seeking
or, alternatively
look within
deep within
and discover
the purest nothing
promising everything now
delivering everything now
everything and nothing
all at once
desire meeting desire
feasting on one another
becoming something more
